Beautiful post-bop spiritual keys-lead record, other-planetary grooves and forward-thinking bandleader debut for the man who cut his teeth alongside Dizzy Gillespie and Yusef Lateef. Lovingly remastered from the original analog tapes and presented in tip-on sleeve to give that legit sound and feel.

Remastered & Cut AAA directly from the original analog tapes by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab. Pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal Media and housed in Stoughton Old Style® Tip-On Jackets. Including an insert with newly written liner notes by Ted Panken and Barney Fields with rare photograph by Raymond Ross.

Originally released in 1973 on Muse Records, Sunset to Dawn marked Kenny Barron's stunning debut as a bandleader. Already a well-respected sideman with stints alongside Dizzy Gillespie and Yusef Lateef, Barron steps into the spotlight with an album that’s both soulful and forward-looking, blending post-bop virtuosity with spiritual searching. The album unfolds like a journey — lyrical, bold, and emotionally resonant.
