If you listen to this and you're not in the know, you're likely going to listen to Claudia Lennear's 1973 album 'Phew!' and think 'she's got a whole lotta Tina Turner going on here', which makes sense as she sung alongside her in The Ikettes. This record is a southern blues rockin' funk sledgehammer with an elite band of Ry Cooder, Jim Keltner, Spooner Oldham and Allen Toussaint all bringing the spice but it's Claudia's raspy voice and seductive performance that make this a must for those who like that down and dirty southern soul.

Two Piers Editions are proud to announce a Limited-Edition Vinyl reissue of the classic album “Phew!’ by Claudia Lennear

Former “Ikette” Claudia Lennear’s 1973 solo album is a blend of gritty rock and Southern Funk featuring an all-star line-up including Ry Cooder, Jim Keltner, Spooner Oldham and Allen Toussaint.

Includes the definitive cuts "Sister Angela", “It Ain’t Easy” and "Everything I Do Gonna Be Funky”.
