Dorothy Ashby always felt like she was operating with an otherworldly viewpoint on music and sound but her connection to the spirituality of jazz, funk and global influences are felt as distinctly as on 'The Rubáiyát Of Dorothy Ashby'. Dorothy picks up Koto a 13 string Japanese traditional instrument on this, I wanna say she masters it like she did the harp but it seems like anything she puts her hand to is utterly Ashby and nobody else.
