Show Me The Body have been proving for over 10 years that the banjo belongs in hardcore punk, to the point you forget it's even there and just hone in on their message of love and holding the higher ups accountable while pulling up the community around you. 'Alone Together' signals the bands most urgent and immediate work yet.
Alone Together is an album about praxis. Putting belief into action. The opening line, “radical love compels me to fight”, reflects lived experience, standing up for one another and for what you believe in, regardless of outcome. Alongside producers Klas Åhlund and Kenneth Blume, Show Me The Body have recontextualized their core language into something with more clarity than ever before. This is not about atmosphere but direct communication, a call to galvanise ourselves and the people around us.
The hardcore, banjo-holding, activism &community-first band from NYC has made their strongest & most accessible date, without sacrificing message & values and due to take them to a further level. “Alone Together” is full of bangers and first standalone single “Dance In The USA” from a few weeks ago is already their highest-ever first streaming week, got them their first BBC 6 Music playlist (B-List). Only just getting started, so much in the works - band will be in the UK for promo in June and then playing All Points East Outbreak with Deftones in August.
