Medium Build's one of those songwriter's that, like meeting a future good friend, you know you're gonna click with after only a few minutes. It's their turn of phrase, the way they seem to feel so comfortable at opening up, seeing the humour in the tragedy and the joy of the mundane. Doesn't hurt that Nicholas Carpenter also makes the kind of indie emo country folk pop that is so hard not to feel is written just for you.
