I cannot stop myself escaping to Sparklmami's fantastical Brazilian jazz pop and psychedelic funk and soul wonderland 'in this body', it makes me feel like I'm an underwater alien living a life of pure luscious jazz funk ecstasy; float dancing to an intergalactic radio station. I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THIS!

Sparklmami makes a striking entrance on in this body, folding church-rooted vocals, instinctive improvisation, and a beautifully fluid sense of genre into something wholly her own. There’s Brazilian jazz shimmer here, experimental soul depth, funk warmth, and the romantic pull of Mexican bolero, all handled with real ease.

Across nine songs, Sparklmami builds a rich, intimate world from memory and feeling. Spanish and English drift together through cascading runs, soft sighs, glowing sax, and delicate drum patterns. in this body feels immersive and personal, a debut that invites you in gently and leaves a lasting impression.
