Fuzzy, shoegaze, alt-rock that locks you in a perma-state of that unique feeling of being in love for the first time and the innevitable first break-up that feels crushing in a way you'll never feel again, and yet, you miss that once in a lifetime feeling. Very MTV 120 Minutes, Wishy and Slow Pulp sounds going on here too.
On Sew, the band captures the feeling of being in your twenties and watching life quietly rearrange itself. Friendships drift. Relationships end. The people who once seemed permanent slowly become strangers, while everything else moves faster than you can keep up with. Written between home and the road and recorded with longtime friend Calvin Lauber, the album deliberately preserves its rough edges rather than sanding them down. The songs lean into blown-out guitars, memorable hooks, and enough fuzz to blur the line between nostalgia and something entirely new. Drawing inspiration from bands like Veruca Salt, The Breeders, Wishy, Punchlove, and Slow Pulp, Sew feels equally at home in a basement venue or blasting through blown speakers on a summer drive. Rather than chasing a perfect debut, the band made the record they wanted to hear. Sew is less a statement than a snapshot—a band catching itself in the middle of becoming.
