We Will Always Love You: Double Vinyl LP

Pre-Order Item. Release Date Subject to Change.
Label: UMR
Release Date: 20th November

'We Will Always Love' marked a move into an evolved Avalanches sound, still a feast of samples but bringing more live instrumentation and collaboration with an inspired cast of features from Karen O to Kurt Vile, Pink Siifu to Rivers Cuomo, Perry Farrell to Vashti Bunyan, MGMT, Johnny Marr and beyond. It's the act at their haziest and yet still retains that familiar trippy joy.

On We Will Always Love You, The Avalanches opened their music to a larger cast of voices. This 2LP black vinyl repress features contributions from Blood Orange, Leon Bridges, Johnny Marr, Denzel Curry, Neneh Cherry, Tricky and more. Drawing inspiration from the Voyager Golden Record and the story of Ann Druyan and Carl Sagan, the 2020 album explores love, memory and the idea of music continuing beyond its original moment. The result is a more song-focused and collaborative record, while retaining sampling at the heart of The Avalanches’ sound.
