Shout out to that cover, a throwback to a time where the greats would have their photograph taken in what felt like a shopping center (mall) photo studio, no thrills typography and one wasn't sure whether this album would be some smooth soul or a wild jazz fusion funk oddysey. Turns out DJ Harrison takes you in both directions on 'ElectroSoul', which hops from p-funk to rock to classic Stones Throw hip hop to smooth soul to smokey bop jazz to psychedelic rnb to hyperspacejazz as you'd expect from a Thundercat or George Duke.

DJ Harrison is a Richmond, VA Grammy-nominated producer, performer and artist who began writing his new record ElectroSoul after an unexpected hospital stay. Making new music was the first step towards healing once he got home, but as he started writing, he began to crave collaboration. He soon called upon artists from his community and beyond including Yazmin Lacey, Fly Anakin, Pink Siifu, Miguel-Atwood Ferguson, Yaya Bey, Kiefer & more to create his most ambitious record to date! It travels through lo-fi hiphop to indie rock via jazz, funk and R&B, with his signature "warm and fuzzy" sound at the centre. It's a really special and personal record, from an artist at the front of the Richmond music scene.
