Apifera play psychedelic space funk rock like they're transmitting their cosmic grooves from the rocky deserts to a distant galaxy.

Psychedelic jazz supergroup Apifera are back for their second album on Stones Throw.

When the musicians come together, they create a new kind of alternative jazz: a dash of prog, a twist of post rock, and a heavy dose of psychedelia, blended with the electronic jazz they are best known for.

With several vocal tracks, ‘Keep The Outside Open’ showcases a new side to the group - they let their imaginations run wild, wrapping personal stories from everyday life within fantasy and fictional characters.

The members of Apifera are established musicians in their own right: Yuvi Havkin releases electronic jazz as Rejoicer; Yonatan Albalak is frontman for post rock / psych group Geshem; Amir Bresler leads afrobeat jazz funk group Liquid Saloon; and Nitai Hershkovits is best known for his solo piano records, with a 2023 album on ECM.

Closing track, ‘Sera Sam’, features well known trumpeter Avishai Cohen.

LP includes embossing on cover and double-sided lyric insert.
